It was Rakshan Rai’s turn to show his class as he hit a fabulous, counter-attacking ton to take his team TKCC Royals to an upset win over WPP India XI. WPP India XI started well with their bowlers, Kishore Gunwani, Arun Rajain & Gaurang Kapadia taking 2 wickets apiece to have TKCC struggling at 71 for 6 wickets. Rakesh Gowda then joined Rakshan to put together 115 run in one of the best counter-attacking fightbacks seen in the JCA league with Rakesh contributing a sizzling 76 runs. The fall of Rakesh saw Rakshan step up a gear, clearing the fence at will, and taking his team to a huge 245 in their 35 overs.

Swaroop Chawan’s early wickets including that of Pallav Malhotra, had WPP in early trouble. Arun Rajain then tried to string partnerships, first with Ajay Kurtkoti and then, Rahul Pagad, but Rakshan Rai who could do nothing wrong, struck with 2 wickets and a run-out to ensure TKCC Royals win comfortably.
