This weekend saw fairly one-sided contests in the Texmoda JCA league as teams won with comfortable margins.

Senayan CC took on TKCC Royals in a 35 overs encounter on Saturday. TKCC Royals would have enjoyed their start as they had Senayan CC on the ropes early after putting them in to bat. Amar Kapadia steadied the wavering Senayan ship briefly until Syed Naqvi struck thrice and at 110 for 6 in 24 overs, Senayan was looking at a sub-par total. The hard-hitting Rakesh Gowda, however had other ideas as he counter-attacked brilliantly in a boundary studded knock of 86 and his 100 run stand with Parag Haldankar ensured that Senayan had plenty to defend.

Raj Kapadia started things off brilliantly for Senayan with 2 wickets in his first over itself. Maneesh Tripathi staged a mini-recovery for TKCC but Raj came back to claim Maneesh’s wicket and dash the Royals hope of a successful chase. Syed Naqvi continued his great day, this time with the bat, but despite Senayan conceding a record, 48 extras, he was left with too much to do as he ran out of partners.
