Defending champions KLNWISCI secured its 11th consecutive victory in the TATA Motors JCA League when it defeated SenayanCC by 60 runs on Saturday at the Cibubur grounds, consolidating its position at the top of the pack in Division 1.

Having been quite successful in chasing and the possibility of rains in the afternoon, SenayanCC had no hesitation in asking WISCI to take first strike upon winning the toss. WISCI started cautiously in typical fashion as it reached 69/1 after 12 overs. Overnight rains and a wet outfield meant several Senayan fielders had butter fingers as a number of catches went down due to the slippery ball. Despite that, WISCI were restricted to 121/3 after 24 overs. However with wickets in hand, and an outfield that was drying up, a late order flourish from Dave Holme (28 runs) and skipper William Noronha (19 runs) pushed the score along to 214/7 in 35 overs. Earlier Rajeev Rajeswaran top scored with an impressive 50, with useful contributions from Viraj Bhammar (28), Navin Param (24) and Gamantika (21) while Anjar Tadarus and Ashit Mehta took 2/28 and 2/37 respectively for SenayanCC.

Chasing an above par score at this venue, Senayan were constricted by the near all-spin attack of WISCI as the spinners bowled in tandem for almost the entire innings. With no pace off the ball to work with, Senayan lost wickets at regular intervals to be all out for 155 runs in 34.5 overs. Ahmad Ramdhoni seemed to be the only batsman able to negotiate the turning ball as he top scored with 42 runs while Amrithanand supported with 28 runs. For WISCI, Rajneesh Vasudeva (3/22) and Navin Param (2/19) did the most damage with the ball.
