In a Division 1 game at GMIS Grounds on Sunday, SenayanCC took on EmerioCC. Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, lead by Raj Kapadia’s 3 wicket burst, Senayan had Emerio in a spot of bother straight away when they had them reeling at 45/4 after 12 overs. Despite trying to make a recovery, Emerio could only manage to score 179/7 in its 35 overs. For Emerio, its skipper Anjaneyulu Katta scored a defiant 56 runs, while Maneesh Dubey scored 49 runs. Raj finished with figures of 3/25. In response, SenayanCC galloped to 108/1 at the first drinks break. Despite losing a few quick wickets in the second session, lead by Prem Subramaniam’s knock of 60 runs SenayanCC overhauled the target in only the 28th over, losing 6 wickets.
At the half way stage of the season, SenayanCC tops the table in Division 1, while WPP IndiaXI are a close second. In Division 2, despite the loss today, JaguarsCC continue to lead the points table, while Metro Indians are in second place. After a break for the upcoming holidays, the league resumes on the 9th of January from when the teams will compete in the race to the finish as the toppers of each division will claim the coveted championship title.
