Mavecrics CC won their first game of the season by beating Ceylon CC in a thrilling last over win in the second T20 game of the day. Mufasil PM (30) & Baba Sivasankaran (33) got Ceylon CC to a solid start as they reached 57/1 in 10 overs. Pradeep Patnaik (2/32) & Keyur Moradia (1/17) had kept them in check.
Anil Prabhakar & Rajeev Kumar then hit a few big shots to take Ceylon CC to a respectable 141/5. Despite loss of two early wickets, Sanjeev Modi (26) helped the Mavs consolidate. Some tight bowling by Timothy P kept the Mavs in check & despite a solid knock by Pradeep Patnaik (42), Mavecrics still needed to get 37 runs off 14 balls. A few lusty blows by Keyur Moradia (24 of 6 balls) & two boundaries in the last over by Karan Goswami helped Mavecrics win the last over thriller.
