WPP India XI must have rued putting Metro Indians in to bat, when the openers Prabhukaliraj, who is enjoying a fine vein of form, and Ajay Mishra piled on 72 for the first wicket. Gaurang Kapadia, then led the fight-back for WPP as he took 3 wickets to create a wobble, but Murali & Sakthi played well to get their side to a total of 201 runs in 35 overs.

WPP India XI needed their big hitting batsmen to fire to chase this par score down and started well through Gaurav & Ajay. Last season’s best bowler Sabu Joy, regained some form and knocked over the openers in quick succession to bring Metro back into the game. The rest of the bowlers, then chipped in with timely wickets to ensure WPP couldn’t get a big partnership going. Gaurang, in his new batting avatar, tried to pull off a miracle, but then, miracles dont happen often & Metro Indians won by 27 runs in the end.
