WPP India XI would have rued their decision to bat first, as the Jakarta Barbarians opening bowlers left their mark very early in the innings. Vivek Nair squeezed out the batting with a tight spell leading to Muhammad Mehdi, benefiting with wickets at the other end. Much like the Indian team in the Pune test, no batsman in WPP India XI, could put up any resistance and wickets fell regularly as all the JB bowlers kept the pressure going. WPP India XI was bowled out for a paltry 84 runs with more than 10 overs to spare.

A couple of early wickets by the wily Kishore Gunwani, would have given WPP India XI some hope of a fightback, but sensible batting by the ever-reliable Ben Burgess, ensured Jakarta Barbarians got home with plenty of wickets & overs to spare. This upset win by Jakarta Barbarians, opened up the already tight race for Division 1 honors.
