Little master Rajeev Rajeswaran’s experience sees his side WISCI end up on the right side of a roller-coaster ride against PHM Jaguar CC

JCA Jaguar CC, League News, Texmoda JCA League, WISCI Wanderers

The second Division 1 game between Jaguar CC and WISCI Wanderers, was a topsy-turvy game which went to the last over. Riaz Hyder held up one end while a resurgent, Dave Holmes was back at his fast, best. The fall of Riaz, saw Abdul Ghaffar and Shabbir Hussain put up some resistance, till Suhail Modak took 2 wickets in 2 balls to rock the Jaguars. Some late order resistance saw Jaguars claw back to a competitive 162 in their 35 overs.

WISCI were rocked early in their reply and were at 41 for 4 wickets, thanks to some good, incisive, fast bowling by Shabbir Hussain & Jagdeep Singh. Jakarta’s Little Master, Rajeev Rajeswaran had to call on his vast experience to patiently re-build the innings with a solid fifty. Aman Singh and Irshad Birajdar then rocked the middle order to have WISCI on the ropes at 119/7. Skipper William Noronha & Dave Holmes put on a fighting partnership to get their team closer to the target. Five runs were needed off the last over with 1 wicket in hand. Anand Khaira hit a four of the 5th ball to give WISCI a hard-fought win.
