In a TATA motors JCA League Division 1 game at Purwakarta on Sunday, a pugnacious yet fluent innings of 122 runs by Ksitij knocked the wind out of MenaraCC’s sails as TKCC won by a whopping margin of 139 runs. The innings of Kshitij which came off just 83 balls and laced with 9 boundaries and 6 Sixes ensured that TKCC had the momentum with them going into the innings break. Starting off with two consecutive boundaries off the first two balls he played, Kshitij tore into Menara’s depleted bowling attack, helping TKCC run up a formidable score of 265/5 in 35 overs. The innings of Kshitij was so domineering that despite a brilliant piece of fielding which caught him short of the crease, the stage was set for the other batsmen to continue the leather hunt as skipper Malik Thariani and Maneesh helped themselves to quick thirties.

In response, Menara started the chase in right earnest as openers Harish Tiwari ( 25 off 13 balls ) and Taimur Khan ( 21 runs) mixed caution with aggression. With Subhash Modgil batting at number 3 chipping in with 27 runs, Menara reached 69/1 in 10 overs. However the target of 266 was too big a mountain to climb as Menara catapulted to be all-out for 126 runs. Vishal Garg was impressive with the ball to claim his best bowling figures of this season with 5/18.
