The sole 35 over game of the day saw Metro Indians taking on WPP India XI at Cibubur. A huge 3rd wicket partnership of 90 runs between Kiruba Sankar (59) and Dhanasekar R (42) helped Metro Indians revive after the loss of 2 early wickets. Metro needed to capitalize on this platform, but, Pankaj Jain (4/26) got rid of both these batsmen in quick succession and the remaining batsmen couldn’t contribute much. Metro Indians finished up at a par score of 173/7 in their 35 overs. In reply, Rahul Pagad (21) started off in a hurry, going after the bowlers. Kiruba Sankar (4/30) then pegged WPP India XI back by sending both the openers back. Pallav Malhotra (41) then batted sensibly to take the team to a strong position of 100/3 in the 20th over. Sakthi Narayanan (3/33) then too 3 wickets to bring Metro back into the game. Things went down to the wire & WPP needed 9 to win of 4 overs but with only 2 wickets in hand. Kiruba, in his last over, then cleaned up the 2 wickets to lead his team to a 5 run win & get himself yet another Man of the match award.
