The Jakarta Youth Cricket Association (JYCA) is a Youth Sports Community program open to boys and girls, all Grades, from the community (JIS & non-JIS students). The program is managed and operated by volunteer parents, faculty & students and/or other related individuals from within the community together with assistance from the Jakarta Cricket Association (JCA) and the Indonesian Cricket Association (ICF). Parents are encouraged to volunteer as league officers, coaches and administration support.
The league philosophy is geared toward developing skills, educating children on the game of cricket, teamwork, sportsmanship and fair-play. Equal playing opportunity is a priority in the JYCA.
The cricket is operated in 2 separate groups - Junior/Beginners (generally 7 years and younger) who are still learning and having fun with the basics of ball skills, batting and fielding skills; and the Senior/Advanced group (generally 8 years and above) where the focus is more on further developing the skills and limited over games amongst the players.
Registration fees vary each season depending upon numbers, ages and format however the fee generally ranges between Rp. 250,000 to Rp 450,000 per player. The registration fees go towards uniforms, equipment, awards, JIS facility usage fee and external coaches.
The JYCA season coincides with the JIS spring semester, usually starting in January and ending in May.
There are no formal practices held on campus.
Coaching and games are held on Saturday mornings depending upon availability of facilities. Various external games may also be organized and teams and players may participate in various tournaments organized by the JCA and ICF.
We really would like to encourage your child to register for the JYCA. Cricket is a fun game which encourages the development of a unique set of skills that have helped millions of players around the world young and old.
Thank you for supporting the JYCA.
