Every year to celebrate the spirit of cricket that exists between two of the largest expatriate communities represented in Jakarta, the Kangaroo Curry cup is played between a select Australia XI and India XI. The dates also coincide with both Australia Day & India’s Republic Day (both of which fall on the 26th of January)

Consisting of the best of talent available from these two cricketing giants, the 8th edition of the annual T20 game was won by India XI, thereby going 5-3 up, head to head. In a game that had the usual drama associated with a T20 encounter, India XI reached 141/3 in the 19th over to win by 7 wickets, chasing a target of 140 set by Australia XI.

For the Australian XI (led by Ben Burgess) the top performers were Ben Burgess with 53 and for Indian XI (led by William Noronha) Viraj 52*(55) & Prem 33*(17).

Thanks to Suresh Subramanian & Corbon Loughnan for umpiring the game.
