The Texmoda JCA league resumed after a short break and the first weekend of 2018 saw all the teams batting first registering comfortable wins.

Emerio CC took on Challengers CC in a 35 overs encounter on Saturday and Challengers who were still in search for their first win of the season decided to put Emerio in to bat first. The Emerio batting appeared to have benefited from the break as almost all their top order hit good form. Ajeet Bhatt anchored one end while Ahamad Abbas Khan gave him company and though they were not scoring quickly,  they ensured that a platform was being built for Harmeet Singh & Maneesh Dubey to explode later on as Emerio CC ended with 197 for the loss of just 3 wickets in their 35 overs.

In reply, Challengers CC were rocked early on as Anji Katta & Maneesh Dubey took 3 quick wickets. Ranjan Shankar tried to build a recovery but Challengers lost a couple of more wickets and were in big trouble at 46 for 6. Srini Govindraj & Santosh Kumar put together a 60 runs stand, but they were left with too much to do and Rachin Kumar wrapped up the tail quickly to give Emerio a 69 run win.
