The other 35 overs game of the weekend was a humdinger of a game as Ceylon CC put Rebels CC in to bat on a wet & soggy, Karawaci outfield. The Rebels batsmen tried to build partnerships and their entire top order did contribute, but no big partnerships were made as the Ceylon bowlers, especially Sanjeewa, kept chipping away with wickets. Christian Hirst top scored as the Rebels finished on 163 in their 35 overs, a competitive score, given the slow outfield.

Good bowling by the opening pair of Owais & Alfhariz kept Ceylon CC quiet and Rebels would have been the happier side at the first drinks break. Ceylon CC has in this season, been very consistent in their ability to fight-back from tough situations and once again, Rajeev Kumar & Justin Matthew played a very strong hand in taking their side to within 30 runs off a win with plenty of overs to spare.

Things got really interesting in the last couple of overs, with the scores level, Christian Hirst bowled a tight 34th over, a wicket maiden. Which meant 1 run needed of the last over with only 1 wicket in hand. In a display of exemplary fighting spirit, Sanjeewa Senanayake, despite having just got 4 stitches on his right hand after a fielding injury, decided to come out to bat and a misfield of the first ball, gave Ceylon a hard-fought win.
