Meanwhile at the GMIS grounds, in Division 1, the Jakarta Barbarians defeated KLNWISCI by 59 runs. Batting first the Barbarians reached 233/7 in 35 overs. Eki Antaria scored 72* while Jon Baker and Ben Burgess chipped in with useful forties. Rajneesh picked up 2 wickets. In response, KLNWISCI who had already secured an unassailable lead at the top of the points table decided to test the depth of its batting as it reversed the order with non-regulars leading the way. The experiment which did not spare even the role of the captain had Viraj Bhammar at the helm. With WISCI reduced to 125/7, even a blistering knock of 44 by the “original” Skipper William Noronha that included a six off a reverse sweep did not stem the flow as they were all-out for 174 runs. Aman Singh and Viraj chipped in with 32 runs and 29 runs respectively, while Eki (3/34) and Ben Burgess (2/30) did the most damage with the ball.
