In other games as well, the captains played an important role. Dihan Silva’s 75 helped shepherd his team Ceylon CC to a comfortable win over GMIS CC. Ceylon CC were going well led by their captain’s explosive batting, when Jalaj Chaturvedi & Waqar Ali struck, creating a middle order wobble. It needed some rearguard action from Hasmathullah & Senanayake to ensure Ceylon got to 182 runs. GMIS also started briskly through their captain, Naresh Gupta, but regular wickets by the Ceylon bowlers ensured GMIS CC were bowled out 56 runs short.
