In a division 2 fixture at the GMIS grounds, the Fez Rebels defeated Mavecrics CC by 3 wickets in a gripping encounter. Batting first, MavecricsCC started well but a sudden collapse of 5 wickets saw them struggling at 51/5. Pradeep Patnaik who was batting cautiously, then found support in the form of Sanjeev Modi (28 runs) to stabilize the innings. At the fall of his partner’s wicket, Pradeep realizing he was running out of partners, decided to throw caution to the winds when he smashed 4 sixes and 4 boundaries. However the introduction of Corbon Loughnan into the bowling attack put paid to all his efforts when Corbon knocked off the last 3 wickets in one over without conceding a single run. Mavecrics were all-out for 150 runs with Pradeep stranded on 58 runs.  Greg Furness took 2/19.

In response the Rebels were coasting along at 86/1 when Marten Eddy missed a straight ball to be dismissed for 26 runs. A quick cameo by Cameron Knox (19 runs off 11 balls) notwithstanding, the Rebels suffered a collapse when they lost 4 wickets for 6 runs. At 115/6, it looked like the Mavecrics were back in the game, when Corbon, who was batting at the other end had other ideas.  While remaining unbeaten on a well-made 74 runs, the all-rounder landed one ball on the terrace to seal victory by 3 wickets, and with it the Man of the Match award. Mayank and Pradeep took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
