The boys from Jawa Barat overcame their Yadavas compatriots, DKI Tigers to win this year’s Bali International 6s cricket tournament organized by Persatuan Cricket Indonesia. Benefiting from the training & experience they get by playing in the JCA league, they dominated the opening rounds to set-up the finals clash.

In a reflection of the rising popularity of cricket in Indonesia, 16 teams from all over the country including 2 teams from Australia participated in the tournament. This week also sees 9 womens teams from various provinces in Indonesia taking part in the Kartini Cup. These tournaments reflect how popular the game of cricket is becoming in Indonesia and augur well for Indonesia’s prospects of winning medals in the SEA games and the upcoming Asian Games, said Aziz Syamsuddin, the President of PCI.
