Cameron Knox’s vintage knock brings back old memories & helps Rebels CC beat Mavecrics CC

As the Texmoda JCA League started warming up with more games being played over the weekend, the games went as predicted with no big upsets.

Rebels CC took on an under-strength Mavecrics CC in the first game of the weekend, a 35 overs affair on Saturday. Some wayward bowling and poor catching saw Mavecrics off to a bright start. The young Ishaan Gambhir played particularly well and anchored one end. Despite losing a couple of wickets, Mavecrics were very well placed at 76 after 12 overs. The introduction of Alfhariz & the wily Marten Eddy, led to a significant change of fortunes as run-making became difficult and wickets fell in attempting to force the pace. Once the 53 runs partnership between Ankit Awasthi & Ishaan was broken, Rebels CC bowlers ran through the tail & Mavecrics finished at 167.

The JCA veteran, Cameron Knox, re-discovered his form and several vintage shots followed as Rebels CC responded briskly in their chase. A brilliant 97 run partnership between Cameron & Marten Eddy virtually sealed the deal for the Rebels CC as they chased down 167 with more than 7 overs to spare and with 7 wickets in hand.
