The last weekend of the JCA T20 league-stage saw two comfortable wins. In the 1st game, Ceylon Cavaliers upset pool leaders Victorious Secret to end with a consolation win. TKCC Royals comprehensively beat Menara Devils in the 2nd game to become the 4th & final team to enter the play-offs

Ceylon Warriors who were playing for pride, won the toss & chose to bat first against a below-strength Victorious Secret team. Ceylon was under pressure early on when they lost their openers within the first 3 overs. Baba Sivasankaran (50) entry to the crease, then led to the tide changing in Ceylon’s favor. He put on a match-winning 60 runs together with Rajeev Kumar (35) to put Ceylon back in contention. Some tight, end-overs bowling by Suhail Modak (2/16) and a spate of run-outs (5 run-outs in the innings) meant that Ceylon Cavaliers ended with 130/9 in their 20 overs. David Surjit also bowled a tight spell to give away only 19 runs in his 4 overs.

In reply, Victorious Secret never got going as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and couldn’t get any partnership going. Suhail Modak (27) was the only batsman who put up any resistance. The Ceylon Bowling unit was on song today with almost all bowlers doing well. Satheesh (4/18) was the star of this unit today and he got good support from Das (2/19) & Faheem (2/5). In the end, Victorious Secret were bowled out for 96 & fell short by 34 runs.
