After being put into bat, GMIS CC had to rely on a solid & responsible knock from Ajeet Bhatt who almost carried his bat and was the last batsman to fall. Abhishek Sharma in the company of the experienced Srikkanth, kept pegging away with wickets at the other end. The only support Ajeet got was from Ishan who stayed long enough to put on more than 60 runs in their crucial partnership. Ashish Khaitan chipped in with a couple of wickets to help restrict GMIS CC to a par score of 156 in their 35 overs.

In reply, Indorama CC started off reasonably well, though they were restricted in their scoring by a miserly spell from Mohammad Imran. The slow bowling pair of Jalaj Chaturvedi & Diwakar Mohan then, combined well to cause a middle-order collapse and Indorama CC were in real trouble at 101 for 8. Ashish Khaitan, who is having a very good season, then put on a brave fightback with a 37 run stand for the 9th wicket which had GMIS sweating. However, his other partners didn’t last long and Indorama CC were bowled out 13 runs short.
