Earlier on Saturday at Cibubur, TKCC defeated Menara CC by 4 wickets in another division 1 fixture. Winning the toss, TKCC invited Menara to take first strike. Starting cautiously through its openers Deepak Khullar (34 runs ) and Taimur Khan, Menara was comfortably placed at 138/4 after 24 overs. Despite a fine 44 runs by its No. 3 batsman Rahul, and 23 runs by Prakash Kewlani, a combination of spin and swing bowling by TKCC saw Menara lose its last 6 wickets for very little to be all out for 178 runs. Rakshan finished with an impressive 3/19 off 5 overs, supported by Maneesh Tripathi (2/47) and Mukesh Khetan (2/27)
In response, despite losing two early wickets, TKCC lead by its captain Swaroop Chavan, (48 not out ) and Rakshan’s 35 runs, finished the game in the 29th over, losing 6 wickets. Swaroop’s 54 run partnership with Rakesh AS (20 runs) ensured TKCC maintained its winning formula of inserting the opposition in and chasing down the target.
